About the Role

As an Operations Manager at Amazon Italia Logistica S.R.L., you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our Fulfilment Centres. You will be responsible for leading a team of Area Managers and developing operational plans to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a team of Area Managers to achieve operational excellence.
  • Lead operational teams on a shift, addressing issues and positively impacting site performance.
  • Analyse shift performance against relevant business objectives and implement actions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security.
  • Design and deliver initiatives across sites to enhance operational performance.
A Day in the Life

You will lead shifts at one of our operational sites, serving as the key link between various teams, including finance, safety, and operations integration teams. This will involve meetings with different areas of the business, deep dives into performance and risk metrics, and preparation for varying levels of demand.

Every day will also involve mentoring and coaching your team, providing leadership and support to help them become the best managers they can be.

Customer Fulfilment is the foundation of our business, handling over 1.5 million orders every day. We're a global team that has scaled up from a humble team of booksellers, and we're always looking for ways to offer a bigger, better product range – delivered quickly and affordably.

We're based in Fulfilment Centres, which are at the heart of Amazon's fast-paced Operations network. Our centres are sometimes referred to as the 'First Mile' because it's where most Amazon packages start their journey. We help to manage dynamic inventory and facilitate speedy deliveries round the clock.

Requirements
  • A degree.
  • Relevant experience in successful people and stakeholder management.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language.
  • Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
  • Relevant experience in key areas of environments like production and supply chain or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
  • Experience in a similar logistical working environment.
  • Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment.
