About the Role:
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of each event, taking the lead throughout the planning and execution phase of each project, including on-site event supervision and financial administration. The Project Manager promotes new business opportunities, works closely with internal stakeholders, key suppliers, and presents tailored concepts and programs to each client.
- Develops and implements the strategy for all activities related to assigned projects.
- Determines client needs and expectations, liaising with the sales team to ascertain client precise requirements.
- Selects and negotiates appropriate vendors to supply all components of the event.
- Ensures correct planning and creation of the overall design, producing detailed proposals (costing sheets and presentation).
- Monitors and controls services confirmed before and during the event.
- Oversees all aspects of event execution by coordinating with suppliers and handling Sales/Clients enquiries.
- Uses personal judgment and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles.
- Produces pre/post event evaluation for analysis and future service delivery level improvement.
- Implements standard/best practices and procedures across all markets for consistency.
- Stays up-to-date with industry news and new product ideas, and identifies marketing and sales activities in cooperation with the team.
- Attends business trips as requested.
To Succeed in this role, you should have:
- A degree in tourism, business administration, marketing, or event management.
- Experience in a similar position within the MICE business, DMC, or event agency (3-5 years).
- Excellent knowledge of main suppliers, with a specific focus on destination Italy and Far East.
- Fluency in English is essential, with any additional language(s) such as Spanish and Portuguese being advantageous.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Strong planning and execution skills.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Sound organisational and MS Office skills.
- Proven track record of project management and sound negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal management on all levels and manage relations to ensure professional interaction.
- Expert knowledge of functional areas, applies acquired job skills of depth and understanding of the company and departmental policies.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and motivational skills when required.
- Ability to effectively influence at multiple levels with excellent communication skills.
- Team player, team builder, ability to work both in group situations and also as an individual.
- Creative thinking for effective problem resolution.
- Excellent at multitasking and able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
