Job Summary

AXA XL is seeking a highly skilled Middle Office Team Lead to oversee a team of Underwriting Assistants in Milan, Italy. As part of the Operations Division, this role will ensure high-quality, timely service to all stakeholders by acting as the primary point of contact from an operational perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure individual and corporate targets are met while fostering continuous development of staff.
  • Provide feedback to staff both formally and informally.
  • Manage Interns/trainee onboarding and training on the job.
  • Ensure all functions within the team follow relevant procedures, KPIs, and are compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report fulfillment of MO KPIs to Operation Lead.
  • Continually look to enhance the efficiency of processes, find and implement solutions to mitigate and improve them.
  • Coordinate meetings with stakeholders to monitor ongoing activities, check common procedures, and objectives.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policy forms, operating systems, rating, coding, and policy administration.
  • Knowledge of the insurance regulatory system and Underwriting process.
  • Ability to anticipate key issues and negotiate high-stakes or multi-entity contracts.
  • Focus on customer centricity, leveraging technology and data to understand and anticipate customer needs and behaviors.
  • Decision-making skills, selecting relevant information among vast amounts of available data.
  • Leadership skills, conveying a clear vision, taking others' perspectives into account, and using data/facts to agree on a common vision and roadmap.
