Position Overview

Hitachi Rail is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Coordinator who excels in a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling a variety of responsibilities ranging from administrative tasks to strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

The Welding and Painting Quality Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating a team of quality inspectors in alignment with quality planning activities and budget considerations.
  • Managing the Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) process to track and address quality issues identified during inspections.
  • Providing monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to assess process capability and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensuring that the assembled products meet quality standards up to the final inspection stage.

Required Skills and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or in coordinating quality teams.
  • Expertise in structural welding processes (any special process qualifications will be advantageous).
  • Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing specifications, as well as international standards related to welding processes.
  • Experience in leading teams and overseeing production processes to ensure compliance with welding and machining standards.
  • Knowledge of quality documentation, including MIPs, declarations of conformity, and qualification evidence.
  • Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings and understanding dimensional and geometric tolerance standards, along with the application of primary measurement tools.

Education and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent technical background is required.

Language Proficiency

Fluent command of English (both written and spoken) is essential.
