We are seeking an experienced Executive Producer to lead our Special Projects team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing high-profile audio productions and a strong understanding of the Black media landscape.

The Executive Producer will be responsible for setting the editorial direction for our Brightness in Black initiative and supervising the production of audio content, including national broadcasts on NPR and other national media partners.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across departments and with external partners. They will also have a strong commitment to creating content that showcases diverse voices and experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the editorial direction for Brightness in Black and related editorial projects
  • Supervise the production of audio content, including national broadcasts and podcasts
  • Mentor and develop staff both editorially and as leaders
  • Collaborate with local creators in partner communities to produce local content
  • Ensure the timely completion of all content deliverables
  • Supervise the operational, financial, and HR workings of the team

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in radio/audio production or a similar field
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated knowledge of non-linear, narrative, and digital editing, including mixing music and audio
  • Experience leading a creative team in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced media environment
  • Cultural competence and the ability to work successfully with diverse groups of people
