The World Food Programme (WFP) is the foremost humanitarian organization dedicated to saving lives and transforming lives, providing food assistance during emergencies and collaborating with communities to enhance nutrition and foster resilience. We are currently looking to fill an intern position within the (GPC), located in Rome, Italy.
DIVISION OVERVIEW
GPC spearheads and coordinates WFP's corporate resource mobilization initiatives with Public Donors at capital, regional, and country office levels. Under the guidance of a Government Partnerships Officer (GPO), the intern will assist the Thematic Team Head and team members in managing relationships with various cross-functional and internal stakeholders.

As a member of the Thematic Team of the GPC, the intern will undertake the following responsibilities:
Assist in developing a communication strategy to enhance relationship building and improve donor engagement on key thematic issues, including climate resilience, social protection, and nutrition. Aid in the creation and review of communication materials for the Thematic Team, such as reports, presentations, briefs, webpages, social media content, and other resources. Act as the liaison with communication colleagues working on key thematic areas within the Programmes and Operation Department (PO) and Communications and Media Department to gather communication and information materials for strategic dissemination with donors and partners. Produce communication materials for significant events where donor engagement opportunities arise, such as international conferences. Contribute to the development of key outputs for the Thematic Team, including donor intelligence collection and event organization. Conduct desktop research for reporting and outreach initiatives. Support the organization of meetings and events, including drafting minutes and following up on action items as necessary. Assist in compiling inputs for briefing notes and formatting/editing as per requirements. Be an integral team member of the Thematic Team and contribute to other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Currently enrolled in a graduate program from a recognized university OR recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program (within six months prior to the application to the internship program); University course attendance in the past 12 months. Proficiency in MS Office with a strong command of Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and other graphic design software. Excellent written and spoken English – proficiency in a second UN language is desirable. Strong analytical capabilities and advanced drafting/writing skills are essential. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to prioritize and maintain high-quality outputs within set deadlines. Excellent written and spoken English is required (proficiency/level C). A good command of a second UN language is desirable.
SUPERVISION
Under the direct supervision of the Government Partnership Officer, the intern will receive close mentoring, guidance, and technical supervision. Performance planning and reviews, along with learning and development discussions, will be integral to the supervision process. With the support of a comprehensive induction package and assignment of a mentor, the intern will quickly become a productive member of the team.

Throughout their assignment, WFP interns have access to an industry-leading learning platform. Depending on opportunities and availability of funds, participation in WFP workshops or seminars may be possible.
