About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Search Specialist to join our Pre-Sales organization and contribute to the growth of our business by providing strong technical alignment with our platform and meeting customer needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Guide customers in building reliable, scalable systems using our data platform.
  • Work closely with sales reps to win deals and drive the business forward.
  • Be a trusted advisor to a wide range of users, from startups to large enterprise IT organizations.
  • Stay up-to-date with MongoDB's expanding product offerings, including Atlas Search, and contribute to product enhancement.
  • Collaborate with the Atlas Search product team to close the feedback loop and further develop the product.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of search expertise with technologies like Elasticsearch, Lucene, Solr, Algolia, or similar.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 3+ years of pre-sales experience with enterprise software.
  • Solid understanding and ability to code with modern scripting languages like Python or popular programming languages like C, C++, C#, Java, etc.
  • Experience with scalable and highly available distributed systems.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.

At MongoDB

Design systems, applications, and infrastructure to drive software development projects using MongoDB and the Atlas Developer Data Platform.


Advise customers on architectures, patterns, and strategies for making the best use of MongoDB.


Align to support sales with activities like technical discovery, demos, proof of value, presentation, sizing, and documentation of technical decision criteria.


Act as a liaison, collecting feedback from the field to relay back to the Product Management team.


Help drive demand through participation in trade-shows and account-based marketing events.


Demonstrate resilience and sound judgment in dealing with business challenges.


Proactively seek opportunities to support and mentor other pre-sales team members and share standard methodologies.


Assist in the direction of Vector Search and AI/ML through taking customer needs and interactions to Product Management.


Embody our interactions with internal teams and customers.


Help enable other solutions architects with knowledge on search technical and business concepts as well as build tools to allow other SAs to demonstrate these concepts.
