We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Specialist to join our team at STERIS. As a Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for managing sales activities in a specific geographic area, planning and implementing sales programs to increase sales, and working collaboratively with the Sales & Service Team and Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct the day-to-day field sales responsibilities for STERIS Sales within a specific designated geographic territory.
- Maintain and grow business within current accounts.
- Penetrate new accounts within the geographic territory where STERIS does not have a presence.
- Cultivate and maximize business through existing accounts by executing a consultative/educative sales process.
- Represent the entire STERIS product line.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of proper ordering patterns within the acute care setting for all existing business.
- Work in partnership with Sales and Service Management and Team to achieve penetration growth in Endoscopy, Central Sterilisation, and operating Room.
- Develop consultative relationships with new and existing account base (Physicians, Nurses, Clinical Engineers, Procurement Staff, Infection Control Staff, etc.) to actively manage their infection control practices as they apply to endoscopic practice and infection control.
- Consistently in-service staff regarding infection control practices and other areas that apply to the STERIS customer base.
- Attain monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas.
- Travel as necessary within the specific geographic territory to optimize STERIS product exposure and penetration.
- Maintain all correspondence for each account managed in the territory utilizing sales tools such as Salesconnection appropriately.
- Conduct ongoing market research for products or services and observations, including information on competitive landscape, shifts in industry focus, and trends in the medical environment that might enhance STERIS product offerings.
- Participate in planning and implementing the marketing and sales strategy.
- Participate with Sales Management on annual sales forecast, business plan development, and all established or opportunity mechanisms for increasing revenue within the territory.
- Interact with other departments in the organization to ensure proper handling of customer requirements.
- Maintain open communication with the Sales Team.
- Price quotes, mailers, and samples will be performed and issued through assigned personnel.
- Troubleshoot and evaluate all product reliability issues in the assigned territory.
- Product issues must be reported to a Technical Service Representative and Marketing for rapid response initiation.
- Product Specialist will assist in the exchange of product if needed and communicate with the account throughout the entire process until completed.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 2-5 years of sales experience with business-to-business sales or equivalent experience required.
- Medical device sales highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Time Management.
- Excellent communication skills, also in selling approaches, processes, and product information.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Results-oriented.
- Ability to display courtesy and sensitivity in resolving difficult or emotional customer situations.
- Listening and comprehension skills.
- 'Win-win' approach to problems/opportunities.
- Ability to listen to and value feedback.
- Team-working skills.
- Required to travel a minimum of 70%.
