At U.S. Army Europe and Africa, we are seeking a highly skilled Housing Referral Assistant (Translating) to join our team in Solbiate Olona, Italy. As a key member of our housing management team, you will play a vital role in providing assistance to military members, their families, and eligible civilians in locating off-post housing.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert guidance and support to personnel in locating suitable off-post housing, considering factors such as location, budget, and family needs.
- Maintain strong relationships with housing managers, real estate agencies, and private property landlords to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Develop and update the automated listing of houses and apartments available for rent, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
- Offer counseling and assistance on off-post housing to all eligible personnel, addressing their unique needs and concerns.
- Assist personnel in obtaining the most suitable housing, considering a wide range of factors, including budget, location, and family needs.
- Brief personnel on leasing practices and family housing policies and procedures, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared.
- Accompany Service and family members during house hunting and inspecting units for conformance with Department of Army standards.
- Receive and resolve complaints from off-post residents, providing prompt and effective solutions.
- Interview incoming personnel and process applications for off-post housing, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Prepare Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) authorization documents and escort new arrivals to utility service providers.
- Translation duties involve assisting Soldiers and Families with language translation in various instances, ensuring seamless communication.
- Mail services consist of picking up and dropping off mail at Malpensa Airport and sorting out incoming/outgoing mail.
- Minimum of 1 year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the U-05 grade level.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written, and possession of a valid Italian driver's license type "B".
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government (SETAF) driver's license to drive a mail service vehicle.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as substantial walking and standing, as well as lifting and carrying of heavy weights.
Incumbent must obtain and be able to maintain the military driver's license equivalent to Italian driver's license type "B" and perform physical activities such as substantial walking and standing, as well as lifting and carrying of heavy weights.
