About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Privacy Counsel to join our team in the EMEA region. As a key member of our Privacy Office, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our global data protection strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Privacy Programme Development: Assist in the development of our global data protection strategy, with a focus on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its implementation in our business.
  • Project Management: Provide project management leadership and support for privacy-related projects, ensuring that privacy is embedded at the design stage of all initiatives.
  • Data Lifecycle Management: Maintain inventories of processing activities, IT assets, and products, and support the business in performing privacy impact assessments.
  • Policy Development: Establish effective policies, procedures, and work instructions to guide our business in achieving its objectives while complying with privacy laws.
  • Training and Awareness: Oversee the delivery of effective privacy training and guidance to all employees, contractors, and third parties on our privacy policies and procedures.
  • Third-Party Management: Support the assessment and management of third-party contracts, ensuring that they comply with our data protection standards.
  • Incident Management: Assist in managing data subject rights and personal data breaches, including drafting responses and interacting with local supervisory authorities.
  • Monitoring and Remediation: Support the design and delivery of plans for privacy compliance, auditing, and monitoring activities to assess the effectiveness of our privacy compliance program.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in Law required.
  • Experience: At least 4 years' experience in European and international privacy program development and management, including people management roles.
  • Certifications: IAPP certification(s) (CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) preferred.
  • Skills: Deep knowledge of European privacy and data protection laws, including the GDPR and local privacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Additional Requirements: Experience working in a multinational company and a complex, matrixed environment is a significant plus.
