Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant II plays a critical role in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Villanova University. This position provides administrative support to the chairperson, program directors, and faculty, coordinates department and program events, maintains social media presence, and serves as the department webmaster.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning: Manage departmental events, including receptions, talks, conferences, colloquia, faculty retreats, and other meetings. Ensure all event details are confirmed, create advertisements, organize catering, and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Social Media and Communication: Maintain an active social media presence on the university's website, Twitter, and Facebook. Post content related to faculty and student accomplishments, activities, scholarship, and events. Engage with other university departments and groups to increase exposure and posting content fitting the departmental mission.
  • Web Management: Serve as the departmental webmaster, ensuring accuracy and updating information as needed. Maintain the department's website, including Graduate Catalog and program materials.
  • Communication and Coordination: Interface with undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral program directors to update information on the website. Ensure accuracy of printed and online materials and information about programs.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years' administrative office experience required. Previous experience working in a higher education setting preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Above-average accuracy and attention to detail. Flexibility and organization. Ability to multitask and work additional hours during large events.
