The Assistant Manager of Housekeeping plays a crucial role in supporting the Senior Director of Housekeeping in planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing all housekeeping operations in accordance with company standards and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Director of Housekeeping in recruiting, training, evaluating, leading, motivating, coaching, and managing all housekeeping staff to ensure adherence to established cultural and core standards; oversee daily activities and strategic planning for departmental operations.
- Supervise the cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, following the procedures outlined by Four Seasons Hotels: manage the daily work schedules of the supervisory team, digitally compile room and floor status reports for assigned areas, and monitor staff progress daily. Coordinate work orders in designated sections and ensure timely completion, releasing rooms for sale.
- Address guest complaints, handling all interactions with the utmost hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever feasible.
- Ensure that floors and storage areas are fully stocked based on inventory levels and initiate necessary purchase requisitions.
- Collaborate with outsourced personnel, external contractors, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist with various responsibilities and tasks during peak times in public areas, back-of-house, and laundry services.
- Support any additional tasks within the division and/or any assignments given by the Senior Director of Housekeeping.
- Participate in regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and collaboration between departments.
- Maintain open communication with the Senior Director of Housekeeping and schedule regular meetings.
- In the absence of the Senior Director of Housekeeping, oversee the smooth operation of the Housekeeping Department and all related areas.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years of experience in Housekeeping with a supervisory or managerial role.
- Exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
- Strong leadership abilities, capable of providing constructive feedback to both staff and management, with a strong follow-through.
- Ability to lead a diverse team is essential, along with a passion for service.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking both Italian and English.
