About the role:
We are seeking a technically inclined individual to become part of our dedicated team in Sesto Calende as a Helicopter Simulator Technician, engaging with some of the most sophisticated aviation simulators available. Given the extensive variety of simulators at our training facilities worldwide, your responsibilities will be diverse, providing you with the chance to work on a broad spectrum of modern simulators, systems, and equipment, thereby enhancing your technical expertise. We are committed to nurturing a culture of learning, growth, and advancement. At CAE, you will gain exposure to an array of systems that will aid in your technical development.
Our training center operations function around the clock, seven days a week, which means this position will require flexibility to accommodate DAY and NIGHT shift schedules. Some shifts may occur on weekends, so a willingness to work during these times is essential.
Your tasks:
- Diagnose and resolve issues within complex flight simulation systems.
- Verify updates and bug resolutions at the subsystem level in collaboration with the test engineer or pilot.
- Provide support for the integration of data, updates, software, and hardware, as well as the exchange of various assemblies.
- Calibrate instruments as necessary.
- Operate systems, including conducting function tests.
- Conduct detailed fault analysis and rectify or repair the source of faults or components.
- Learn and execute preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and related systems.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving issues on simulators and associated systems.
- Utilize a maintenance management system to document and track maintenance activities.
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight checks on designated simulators.
- Perform basic visual alignments.
- Execute automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures.
- Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
- Complete administrative tasks as required.
About you:
- A technical degree or a minimum of three years of experience in an electronic, avionic, or technical field as a technician or in a similar capacity is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge in electrical engineering.
- Familiarity with avionics is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficient in computer systems (PC and/or mainframe architecture).
- Experience with soldering and circuit board repairs is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
- Possess a practical, analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficient in both Italian and English, written and spoken.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
