Key Responsibilities
I- Program Coordination within the BTTF Team
• Facilitate the overall process of coordination, standardization, and sharing of best practices among team members and project partners.
• Ensure adherence to MEHE Standard Operating Procedures for Community-Based Early Childhood Education, Basic Learning Needs, and retention strategies in educational centers and schools.
• Oversee the execution and management of educational initiatives within the project framework, ensuring compliance with the project work plan, internal regulations, AVSI Child Protection Policy, code of conduct, and AVSI values.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to develop a comprehensive work plan and anticipate necessary resources.
• Coordinate the field team, including educators and assistants, in close partnership with the Project Manager (work plan, information dissemination, weekly scheduling, objectives, and technical requirements).
• Work in conjunction with the Education Specialist, Child Protection Specialist, and technical officers to ensure consistent technical practices across all project locations.
• Monitor the quality of educational and child protection activities in the field.
• Assist in conducting regular meetings with educators and oversee the technical output delivered by teaching staff.
• Review weekly technical reports submitted by education assistants and community-based organization staff, providing feedback and implementing necessary actions when required.
• Evaluate activity plans and reports from animators and community-based organization staff, offering feedback and taking appropriate actions as needed.
• Organize and lead regular project meetings with the team and other relevant departments within AVSI, ensuring minutes are documented and shared.
II- Collaboration with the MEAL Department
• Review the list of children for referral to MEHE/formal education, maintaining regular follow-up with the team to enhance access to formal education.
• Coordinate registration events in collaboration with the outreach department, community volunteers, and center staff.
• Simultaneously liaise between the Monitoring & Evaluation department and field staff to ensure effective data collection processes, including online data entry, focus group discussions, reporting, and adherence to deadlines, ensuring all figures are accurately reflected in the project's log frame.
• Work with the Accountability Officer to implement recommendations and best practices identified during project evaluations.
III- Stakeholder Coordination
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with school principals, partners, and stakeholders in the intervention area, in collaboration with the Project Manager and field office coordinator.
• Manage coordination with the outreach department and community-based organizations to plan necessary outreach activities and target cycles.
• Create a comprehensive mapping of actors, partners, and stakeholders within the intervention area.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to conduct assessments and surveys in the intervention area.
IV- Reporting
• Provide regular reports to monitor project activities (monthly narrative reports).
• Adhere to deadlines and prioritize reporting, activity schedules, targets, and timelines.
• Maintain and update the database of project personnel.
V- Resource Management
• Ensure project execution aligns with AICS and AVSI administrative protocols.
• Identify and communicate the administrative and logistical needs of centers and schools to the office coordinator and logistics department.
• Consolidate and submit payment requests, postal service tables, central purchase requests, and teacher recruitment forms based on the anticipated logistical and human resource needs agreed upon with the Area Manager.
Essential Qualifications
Education:
- A university degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience of at least 5 years is required.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of three years of experience, preferably in non-governmental organizations.
Language Proficiency:
- Native Arabic speaker, with excellent English skills and proficiency in French.
