About the Role

As a Strategic Account Manager at Kuehne + Nagel, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our key customers in the pharma and healthcare sector. Your primary goal will be to understand their needs and requirements, and to propose solutions that add value and build long-lasting partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage customer relationships, being the primary point of contact across the entire customer engagement cycle.
  • Promote a partnership relationship with assigned customers, by understanding their organization's specific needs and decision-making process.
  • Govern virtual account teams, ensuring a global customer representation, collaborating with related account manager networks globally, and exchanging best practices and sales leads.
  • Hunt for new customers and identify new opportunities to improve the footprint of business and solutions with assigned customers.
  • Develop and execute account strategy, defining strategic approach on value proposition and solution, as well as the internal and external positions of Kuehne + Nagel on RFQs and tenders.
  • Drive and partner with our business units to deliver attractive pricing and service.
  • Lead regular and structured review sessions with assigned customers for updates on customer strategy and priorities, adjustment of our value proposition, continuous improvement and innovation, as well as operational excellence.
  • Control monthly performance, monitoring volume, profitability, pipeline, overdue, and ensuring immediate actions in case of deviations.
  • Supervise the transition of new business into operations (Business Units) and make sure that customer requirements and Kuehne + Nagel commitments are met.
Requirements
  • Successfully completed an academic degree, ideally with a focus on logistics.
  • 3+ years experience and Strong track record of managing large accounts and In-depth knowledge of pharma and healthcare sector.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive account initiatives and to establish a strong sense of direction and identity for the team.
  • High customer orientation and strong communication/presentation skills.
  • Strategic mindset in proactively developing effective, long-term solutions for our customers, incorporating latest industry trends, and delivering continuous improvement.
  • Very good spoken and written in English and native Italian.
  • Active driver with Valid Driving license.
