Local Unit & Position Overview:

We are seeking a Surveyor to become a part of our NB&CMC team in Italy, reporting directly to the local Line Management. The NB&CMC team operates within DNV Maritime, Region West Europe, covering areas such as Iberia, Italy, and Malta.

This region encompasses all maritime business operations and comprises approximately 60 professionals across 11 locations. Our operations are divided into two primary Service Lines:

- Newbuilding and Certification-Verification of materials and components (NB&CMC)
- Fleet in Service (FiS), which is integrated into the business Unit FiS West Europe.

Our clientele demands a diverse array of certification services, ranging from materials and welding procedures to pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, gears, thrusters, electrical installations, automation systems, lifting appliances, and complex offshore packages.

We also provide classification services for large and intricate vessels, spanning from the design phase to final delivery, as part of our comprehensive service offerings.

Building on our traditional expertise, we have embarked on a journey to embrace advanced technologies, including fuel cells, innovative turbine designs, advanced electrical drives, and lithium batteries for maritime propulsion.

Our ambition is to lead in innovation, digital transformation, and customer-centric approaches. To achieve this, we continuously evaluate and implement new working methods across various disciplines. Recent initiatives include electronic certifications, remote inspections, additive manufacturing, sensor-based maintenance, alternative fuels, and autonomous vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with clients and relevant departments within our organization.

• Conduct certification and verification of materials and components at various manufacturers in Italy, adhering to class and non-class related standards and processes.

• Participate in DNV teams surveying our Newbuilding projects in the country, engaging in activities throughout all project phases, from planning to completion.

Position Requirements:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Systems Engineering.

• Specialization in integrated safety control and monitoring systems is advantageous.

• Valid driving license.
