We are looking for a seasoned professional to take on the role of Group Inspection & Packaging Performance Manager. This position is pivotal in driving the implementation and execution of Vetropack's strategic objectives, ensuring excellence in the Cold End operations, particularly in inspection and packaging processes across the Vetropack network.

As the Group Inspection & Packaging Performance Manager, you will be instrumental in positioning Vetropack as a leader in the European glass sector, focusing on safety, sustainability, quality, innovation, and productivity. Your efforts will be crucial in meeting and exceeding customer expectations through ongoing enhancements in production methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis and optimization of inspection and packaging processes in the Cold End sector to enhance operational safety, effectiveness, product quality, and customer satisfaction while minimizing costs.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at performance enhancement across the organization to fulfill strategic objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with Cold End managers and local production experts within a cross-functional framework to achieve set goals.
  • Establish, evaluate, and communicate relevant KPIs to measure process effectiveness across facilities.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Oversee project management, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgetary constraints while preparing comprehensive project reports for executive review.
  • Manage budgetary responsibilities and resource allocation within your area of influence.
  • Design and implement training programs for inspection and packaging processes, facilitating best practice sharing across the organization.
  • Conduct regular audits of inspection and packaging operations to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, alongside all company policies and procedures.
  • Manage administrative tasks necessary for effective departmental oversight, including employee selection, production scheduling, budget management, and fostering positive employee relations.
  • Support the definition and standardization of production facilities and processes.
  • Engage with all departments to maintain Vetropack's position as a benchmark in the glass industry.
  • Assist in conducting due diligence for M&A activities.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and knowledge exchange with suppliers and other glass manufacturers.

Managerial Duties:

  • Lead teams in alignment with Vetropack's management principles.
  • Operate effectively within a matrix organization, collaborating closely with production sites.
  • Translate corporate strategy into actionable departmental goals and KPIs.
  • Encourage a culture of engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Inspire and motivate team members to excel and exceed expectations.
  • Develop a robust internal and external professional network.
  • Issue technical directives to Cold End Managers across all Vetropack facilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proficient in translating business strategies into relevant departmental objectives and KPIs.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, with relevant qualifications (e.g., Six Sigma certification).
  • Skilled in team development, coaching, and performance assessment.
  • Acts as a change agent, effectively communicating and challenging existing practices.
  • Experienced in leading performance improvement initiatives within a matrix structure, managing project teams across various locations.
  • Demonstrates a long-term, opportunity-focused mindset.
  • Able to drive high levels of execution and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Higher education in a technical or mechanical field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in the glass industry, specifically in Cold End operations.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience in a related area.
  • Proficient in MS Office, CAD, and MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and Quality Management is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Fluent in English (C1 level) in both spoken and written forms; proficiency in Italian and German is a plus.
