Ensures the proper upkeep and operation of the onboard television system for both Guests and Crew, while managing the television programming schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operates television and broadcasting equipment, maintaining awareness that the equipment is the property of the vessel and is managed under the Engine Department's supervision.
  • Collaborates primarily with the Cruise Director and entertainment personnel to enhance and organize all television and video services.
  • Follows the TV Director's guidance to operate the television and broadcasting system, ensuring the transmission of scheduled TV and radio programs. Regularly monitors the functionality of the systems throughout the day.
  • Under the direction of the TV Director, transmits videos and films on the Theatre screens and in various lounges upon request. Records activities, travel presentations, and events to enrich the television programming available to Guests.
  • Assists the TV Director with minor requests related to Guest cabin television systems, such as tuning channels and replacing cables and ITV devices.
  • Supports all personnel conducting various activities by preparing technical equipment and verifying the quality of playback or filming to ensure suitability for the respective activity.
  • Manages the setup and removal of Play Stations for Guest rental in cabins where this service is offered.
  • Adheres to safety protocols onboard, recognizing that improper use or modifications to circuits may pose significant risks and damage.
  • Reports any equipment issues to the TV Director, adhering to company protocols.
  • Remains available to provide necessary support during visits from shore-side technical personnel or inspections of technical equipment.
  • Maintains a tidy workspace and organized equipment storage, showing utmost respect for the equipment and preventing loss or damage.
  • Collaborates with the TV Director to keep the inventory of responsible equipment updated.
  • Fosters a cooperative work environment with colleagues, understanding that the quality of work is dependent on mutual collaboration. The Movie: The Television Programmer will also assist the TV Director in creating 'The Movie of the Cruise', with the following primary tasks:
  • Setting up necessary equipment for filming
  • Producing required copies based on sales
  • Requesting consumables as needed (e.g., blank DVDs, covers, etc.)
Qualifications
  • High school diploma. Specialization in TV Direction, Video Editing, Lighting, and Graphics. Knowledge of Satellite Systems.
  • Experience in editing, camera operation, graphics, and television direction.
  • Proficiency in video, lighting, graphics, and camera work.
  • Strong command of the English language.
