Description

The Role:

The Strategic Account Manager is accountable for setting commercial strategy and driving growth in sales and profitability for both Products and Services with a selected list of strategic Accounts in Italy and and belonging to the so called Hyperscale & Colocation industry segment. You will represent the Company in front of the Account at CEO/CIO/CFO level, and define short- and long-term targets in close coordination with the respective EMEA Strategic Account Managers/Directors.

Reporting to the EMEA Senior Sales Director and teaming up with other peers across EMEA  , you will be responsible to drive management standards, to reflect the Vertiv behaviors and grant the posture our Company has set to be a leading Vendor within the Datacenter Industry

As an individual you have strong segment industry experience coupled with a well-established network. In particular, your role will be pivotal to drive strategic initiatives across the entire Italian Ecoystem, including the Consultants, the Contractors, Data Center Association and the Industry events where Vertiv is sponsoring.

You demonstrate exceptional account management skills, commercial acumen, and the capability to build networks internally within the Vertiv community. Delivery of your targets will require leadership and effective coordination between the different business segments to fulfil the requirements of your customers, so excellent communications skills are vital. Furthermore, you have the technical competence to understand and demonstrate the full breadth of the Vertiv offering and our capabilities as an organisation to your customers, particularly at senior management level. Your targets will be set to align with the growth expectations of the market and our strategic position with the respective accounts.

We are looking for a highly competent, energetic, and ambitious individual to take on this role within the organization.

As a Strategic Account Manager, You Shall:

  • Drive and continue to develop our customer centric culture. You represent Vertiv in front of the assigned Accounts at CEO/CIO/CFO level as well as the entire Italian Datacenter Ecosystem
  • Develop Vertiv Sales Strategy and secure alignment to our corporate strategy. You constantly adapt our Sales Strategy as needed and gain ongoing input and buy-in from key customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. 
  • Drive growth in sales and profitability for both Products and Services with the assigned Accounts, towards defined short- and long-term targets, securing Vertiv as the Account's preferred partner for the entire Product and Service portfolio of Vertiv. 
  • Drive management standards, ensuring business review cycles are embedded, coordinate the activity of the team and collaborating across teams. Your objectives and key results are clearly aligned with the Goals of your manager
  • Be an advocate of OneCode to continue to drive value selling on daily basis, therefore adding value to customer engagements and opportunity development whilst ensuring effective use of the tools and methodology to grow accounts and individual / team success.
  • Anticipate market trends being an industry expert. Design and deliver innovative solutions, rethinking current standards and routines to achieve competitive advantages in the market. Successfully initiate and sustain the necessary changes, managing internal stakeholders and securing support.
  • Act as a role model. You are a go-to person for your peers, younger generation and most importantly for your Accounts.
  • Offer Though Leadership, communicating with impact externally and internally, both up, down, and across with peers in the organization. 
  • Ensure that any activity, task, and responsibility required is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company Code of Conduct and Trade Compliance.

 You Have:

  • Excellent commercial experience to understand and anticipate market trends, and Vertiv's business environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of the assigned segment and industry in EMEA.
  • Minimum of 8 years of proven records in the Key Account practice, preferably with an International tracking record.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute Account plans.
  • Experience in business negotiation. Experience in relationship building activities with customers. 
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Industry expertise or degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • You are fluent in English.
