Kengzo Waalwijk is looking for passionate kitchen professionals who want to spoil our guests with the very best Chinese and Japanese dishes. Whether you already have experience or are just starting out, with us you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced chefs and help build a top-quality kitchen.

What will you bring as an Independent Chef I?

  • Your duties include carrying out preparatory work such as washing vegetables, cutting and filleting salmon, cutting lamb chops and beef for the preparation of various dishes, working in a kitchen team of approximately 5 colleagues led by the head chef.
  • Preparing and cooking dishes and carrying out interim quality and hygiene checks.
  • Preparing and checking dishes before service, after which service staff can take them over for placement in the warming chafing dishes.
  • Planning daily activities and ordering food products and other stock replenishments from regular suppliers, and checking delivered goods.
  • Supervising the work of kitchen assistants, providing guidance and instructions.
  • Daily cleaning of your own work area, kitchen equipment and machines before closing time, and assisting any kitchen assistants present with the complete cleaning of the kitchen and storage of delivered goods.
  • A good team player who is flexible and has strong communication skills.
  • Contributing to quality improvement and optimization, including adapting menus and developing recipes and preparation instructions.
  • Preferred qualifications: MBO level 3 or a comparable education with knowledge of basic cooking techniques.

What do we offer you?

  • A gross salary between €2,600 and €3,100 based on a 38-hour workweek, according to the Dutch Hospitality (Horeca) CAO, including 25 vacation days and 8% holiday allowance.
  • A temporary contract of at least 1 year.
