Head of Operations Business Excellence 

This is a global role that embraces the following pillars:

• Establish a standard and common Operations Excellence framework able to proactively monitor the performance and continuous improvement initiatives of Sites and Supply Chain through a well-defined KPIs scorecard and governance based on Tier1-4 mechanism. It’s the pivotal role to coordinate the network of Operational Excellence Champions of Sites and Supply Chain, with the objective of developing a culture of Operational Excellence and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Establish and run an Operations Program Office and Execution as control tower of the performance of the operations program office and direct accountability of the execution of selected strategic and/or cross-functional projects with Operations as key leading / contributing function.

OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE

• Collaborate within Global Operations, and with other functions, in identifying opportunities to improve Operations’ effectiveness and efficiency, whilst minimizing potential compliance risks and productivity threats
• Responsible of the design of the Global Operations dashboard, through the identification of major KPIs and the set-up of a continuous collection process and data-driven culture across the function
• Define, cascade and monitor targets and benchmarks to provide an accurate performance and monitoring framework, in order to timely and accurately oversee Operations’ performance and continuous improvement plan
• Oversee the identification of major operational excellence programs, to ensure achievement of efficiency and cost optimization targets as well as effectiveness, improved service level and higher standard in quality and compliance
• Define, design and coordinate the implementation of process improvements projects in the development and manufacturing space, ensuring alignment with business priorities and standardization of methodology across all plants
• Manage and monitor the portfolio of operational excellence initiatives, liaising with the network of Operational Excellence champions, to ensure that organization objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency and quality are met
• Design and roll out a process excellence support framework for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certification and rewards
• Support the team in executing most complex projects, providing direction and leading teams in the implementation of most advanced tools and methodologies 
• Oversee and has a functional reporting responsibility over the network of Operational Excellence champions assigned to manufacturing plants, coaching and facilitating interactions with the Global Functions and leadership
• Partner, as needed, with other Functions requiring Operational Excellence expertise in the execution of internal improvement projects
• Oversee Lean Six Sigma training programs, by receiving periodical updates from the network of Operational Excellence champions
• Create a culture of Operational Excellence and continuous improvement across the organization, by promoting dedicated communications and events
• Establish and maintain performance metrics, monitoring their adoption to measure programs success
• Represent the Operational Excellence capability in the Operations Leadership Team meetings, providing regular updates on the ongoing projects
• Participate to the Kedrion Operations Leadership Team meeting by collating all KPIs across network and presenting it to the stakeholders

OPERATIONS PROGRAM OFFICE & EXECUTION

• Support the Head of Operations Strategy in detailing the long- and medium- term Global Operations strategic plan, through the selection and prioritization of major projects, set-up of the Operations project portfolio
• Establish Operations PMO performance scorecard 
• Ensure the effective planning and execution of major Operations and cross-functional projects, promoting the proactive management and monitoring of projects, cross-functional collaboration and proactive risk minimization
• Direct accountability on selected key strategic / cross-functional projects with Operations as key leading / contributing function
• Responsible of the definition of the business case for major project initiatives, by engaging and collaborating with internal and external SMEs, to ensure all relevant elements are properly identified, evaluated and planned
• Guarantees, by providing support to the Project Leaders, constant monitoring of the progress of the relevant projects.
• Ensures the identification, implementation and maintenance of methodologies and tools aimed at guaranteeing effective monitoring, reporting and presentation to the Top Management of the progress status of the projects.
• Ensures, through a correct analysis of critical issues, the identification of the most appropriate recovery actions in the event of misalignment of a project with respect to the defined constraints.
• Promotes the launch of new projects and the internal development and dissemination of best practices on project management.
• Ensures the correct management of the project portfolio (PPM), both with reference to project prioritization initiatives, aimed at favoring alignment of projects with strategic business objectives, and with reference to resource allocation processes on the various projects.
• Ensures proper preparation of project reports.
• Ensures constant alignment of the function with business objectives, identifying specific needs on the part of the business functions and promoting development initiatives for their functions, aimed at creating value for the company.
• Ensures the drafting and updating of project management procedures/guidelines and their dissemination within the company, as well as in the selection and management of the project management tools used by the company.
• Promotes, in collaboration with other corporate functions (R&D, Operations, etc.), the search for financing of corporate projects, through tenders for public grants and funding.
• Contributes, by promoting dialogue, communication and cross-functional collaboration, to the achievement of the global objectives of the Operations functions.
• Actively participates in cross-functional committees in which his technical and managerial skills are required.
• Identify and implement performance indicators of the key processes supervised, in order to monitor the efficiency and the pursuit of objectives and adopt the appropriate corrective actions.

• Full proficiency English
• Background in operations excellence, program management in pharma / industrial company or top consulting company
• People manager of diverse team per location, age, background
• Great communicator, able to lead global team
