About the Role
As a Senior Corporate Relationship Manager at ING, you will be part of the Corporate Sector Coverage team in Italy, responsible for supporting the origination, development, and maintenance of relationships with corporate clients. You will assist in managing a portfolio of corporates, investment holdings, and private equity players, including their corporate investments, and be the primary contact person within ING.
The position is part of the CSC Italy team, covering clients in various sectors, including Food, Agri & Beverage, Transportation, Logistics, Automotive, Manufacturing & Heavy Industries, Services, and Construction.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Attitude
- You will be responsible for investing in long-term relationships with clients and prospects to make ING their primary bank.
- You will be result-driven and focused on growing your portfolio revenues in Italy and abroad.
- You will identify business opportunities in client conversations and organize pitches to generate business and reinforce ING's position in the market.
Stakeholder Management
- You will have effective networking and relationship-building skills to quickly earn the confidence of mandate holders, senior management, and clients, ensuring smooth transactions and processes.
- You will assist in creating and maintaining virtual client teams, contributing to activities with product specialists and/or local relationship managers abroad.
- You will have 1st line of defense responsibilities, ensuring relevant client reporting, holding credit, operational, and compliance risks at the highest standards by supporting the completion of KYC processes.
Objectives
- You will monitor client profitability and the realization of your portfolio KPIs and team objectives.
- You will avoid underperforming assets in your portfolio by locking in cross-sell opportunities and making careful considerations when presented with lending opportunities.
- You will participate in wider sector initiatives and improvement projects, actively contributing to making the CSC Italy team a better and more efficient organization.

As a Senior Corporate Relationship Manager, you will also need:
- Academic degree/MBA in finance, economics, law, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial role, with potential in terms of origination capabilities and deal-making.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in Italian and English.
- Good product knowledge and an interest in learning across lending, leasing, working capital solutions, payments & cash management, custody services, trade financial services, BMG, Corporate finance, equity capital markets, debt capital markets, financial markets.
- Experience with corporate clients is an advantage.
- To give and ask for constructive feedback.
- The ability to get things done effectively and efficiently.
- To be a team player who loves to gain, deepen, and share knowledge.
