POSITION OVERVIEW

The International Medical Communications & Content (MCC) division operates within the Global Medical Engagement and Impact (MEI) framework of the Global Chief Medical Affairs (CMAO) Office. This team is responsible for steering the strategy for local medical channel content across the Oncology, Primary Care, Specialty Care, and Vaccines sectors within our International Division. The MCC team collaborates closely with both Global and US Medical Channel Content Teams, along with other vital cross-functional partners, to conceptualize, adapt, and disseminate all non-US medical content through various channels including publications, congresses, medical-to-medical interactions, and digital platforms.

The Senior Manager of Medical Communications & Content will:

  • Collaborate with country medical affairs teams to implement a comprehensive, customer-focused medical channel content strategy across Pfizer's portfolio in non-US regions, enhancing the dissemination of emerging scientific information to healthcare professionals, patients, and other stakeholders.
  • Generate innovative concepts to inspire and lead the execution of medical channel content strategies that align with both global and local requirements, improving the engagement of medical affairs with external audiences by delivering complex medical and scientific information in a relevant and memorable manner. This role will leverage strategic thinking and data-driven insights to assist country medical teams in executing integrated, customer-centric omnichannel strategies for medical content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement local medical channel content strategies for assigned therapeutic areas (e.g., Oncology, Primary Care, Specialty Care, Vaccines) in non-US markets to maximize the engagement and reach of Pfizer's scientific data.
  • Oversee the efficient localization of global medical content and the creation of limited new local content, ensuring alignment with therapeutic area strategies, country regulations, and established enterprise standards across various regions.
  • Work closely with country medical affairs teams to gather local insights and align therapeutic area strategies with global objectives, prioritizing the localization and development of content that meets the agreed-upon strategy and customer needs.
  • Promote content reuse and ensure that content creation is limited to locally prioritized assets when global content is unavailable.
  • Ensure alignment with commercial channel strategies where applicable to enhance customer experience while maintaining compliance standards.
  • Understand the customer journey through insights that inform optimal medical content formats and channel strategies.
  • Adapt and develop content for approval, considering the intended use and compliance with internal policies and local codes.
  • Customize global/US content for local markets, ensuring compliance with local language and regulations, in line with global/local medical scientific strategies.
  • Local content may include publications, congress materials, advisory board content, and digital platform content.
  • Navigate local medical review processes to ensure timely approval and dissemination of content across appropriate channels.
  • Collaborate with content teams to provide input on content strategies and identify innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for local medical congresses in collaboration with cross-functional teams to support Pfizer's scientific presence.
  • Stay informed about local regulations that affect the digital delivery of scientific information to healthcare professionals.
  • Remain current on Pfizer's standard operating procedures and guidance documents.
  • Generate analytics reports and project scorecards as needed, in alignment with key performance indicators.
  • Share content engagement metrics with country medical affairs teams to assess performance and refine future strategies.
  • Mentor team members and external vendors to ensure effective execution of assigned tasks and objectives.
  • Keep updated on current literature, emerging science, medical trends, and technological advancements to enhance content development and review processes.
  • Consistently exemplify Pfizer's values, collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders while upholding integrity, performance, and teamwork.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced scientific or healthcare degree (PharmD, PhD, MS, etc.) required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3 years in Medical Affairs, Scientific Publications, or Medical Communications.

  • Proficient in scientific peer-reviewed publications and global medical communications best practices.
  • Strong presentation, customer-facing, and interpersonal skills within a matrix organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting scientific information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to convey complex ideas clearly to various audience types and cultures.
  • Build rapport and credibility with key stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable about relevant regulations and Pfizer policies acquired through training.
  • Decisive with sound judgment, organized, and capable of prioritizing a substantial workload.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks across various projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently in a matrix environment with demonstrated flexibility and organizational awareness.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in the local language of designated countries.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the relevant therapeutic area.
  • Familiarity with the assigned countries or geographies.
  • Omnichannel experience is preferred.
