About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Technician to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Data Center Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, including the maintenance and monitoring of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilities Maintenance: Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety equipment, and HVAC equipment within the data center.
  2. System Monitoring: Monitor and troubleshoot all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, voice/data, cooling systems, fire/life safety equipment, and generators.
  3. Incident Response: Respond to critical events and incidents, and provide assistance to contractors or data center engineers as needed.
  4. Site Walkthroughs: Perform site walkthroughs to verify proper operation of facility equipment and monitoring systems.
About the Team

Our team is responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of our data centers, and we are looking for a skilled technician to join our team. As a Data Center Operations Technician, you will work closely with our data center engineers and other teams to ensure the smooth operation of our data centers.

Requirements
  1. Experience: 2+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, and/or controls relevant experience (degree or trade qualification preferred).
  2. Skills: Competent in the use of basic IT programs such as MS Word/Excel or similar; valid driving license and able to cover a 24x7 shift rotation.
  3. Knowledge: Working knowledge of generic mechanical-room infrastructure such as chillers, Air Handling Units, and fan controls; working knowledge of backup generator systems.
