Job Title: Control Room Specialist

Join HHLA PLT Italy, a leading player in the logistics and container handling industry, as a Control Room Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of container ships, ro-ro, and rail services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage vessel and train scheduling to optimize operational efficiency
  • Oversee yard management, including movement planning, allocation, and inventory control
  • Coordinate with operational departments to transmit operational instructions
  • Collaborate with ship and train operations teams to ensure seamless coordination
  • Communicate effectively with external parties, including port authorities, agencies, and ships
  • Manage external traffic flows for ro-ro operations
  • Process documents, including ro-ro, container, and train-related paperwork
  • Manage disembarkation and embarkation lists, ship and train lists, and unit blocking or release notices
  • Process requests for ancillary services, such as customs visits and VGM
  • Ensure accurate data processing for customer invoicing
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in vessel, train, or yard planning is preferred
  • Experience in shipping agencies and/or port sector is a plus
  • Fluent written and oral English is required; other languages are a bonus
  • Good Excel knowledge is essential
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Driving license (B) is required
