Position Overview

In the role of Manager at the GEL Vimercate laboratory, you will oversee the management and growth of your team to ensure exceptional service delivery. Your responsibilities will include enhancing functional performance by collaborating with both internal and external partners to develop and implement service strategies that align with corporate objectives and business needs. You will also play a crucial role in enhancing individual capabilities through performance evaluations and the establishment of development plans. Monitoring performance metrics will be essential to identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives. Additional duties encompass ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations, as well as leading the organization in formulating and executing departmental strategies, processes, and policies through active engagement in functional teams and projects, while also mentoring other leaders in the organization.

Managing Service Delivery in Functional Areas

  • Influence and shape functional strategies
  • Offer guidance on work execution and problem resolution
  • Assist in troubleshooting escalated issues and provide coaching for effective resolution
  • Coordinate and communicate departmental policies and procedures
  • Monitor adherence to policies and provide constructive feedback
  • Ensure team members receive proper training in compliance and work requirements
  • Oversee internal budgets
  • Engage in and promote ongoing cost reduction and quality enhancement efforts
  • Identify and implement improvements in systems and processes
  • Develop, communicate, and track performance metrics
  • Coordinate with laboratory service support functions such as Facilities, Procurement, Logistics, IT, Finance, and Security
  • Serve as a technical reference and coordinate with laboratory service suppliers
  • Collaborate with the Global GEL network to support GEL initiatives and projects.
  • Prepare for and support laboratory audits.
  • Assess capital and space requests from various engineering teams while evaluating global inventory and location.
  • Establish and implement optimal processes for equipment maintenance to enhance uptime and efficiency.

Organizational Leadership for Functional Strategies, Processes, and Policies

  • Formulate and execute strategies based on stakeholder, regulatory, corporate, and departmental requirements
  • Monitor performance against established plans
  • Maintain expertise to provide subject matter knowledge
  • Actively participate in or lead functional teams and projects
  • Mentor emerging leaders within the function
  • Collaborate with peers to develop global solutions
  • Manage conflicts and identify escalation paths
  • Align internal strategies with corporate objectives and communicate effectively

Collaborating with Stakeholders for Strategic Solutions

  • Identify and comprehend service requirements
  • Communicate capabilities to meet stakeholder expectations
  • Develop metrics to clarify deliverables
  • Provide functional expertise to customers and stakeholders
  • Coordinate functional services with peers and internal global partners
  • Manage conflicts and build effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Initiate and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders involved.

Ensuring a Safe, Compliant, and Ethical Work Environment

  • Stay informed of and apply company safety, labor, and ethics policies
  • Communicate requirements to relevant team members and stakeholders
  • Oversee mandatory training execution for direct reports
  • Identify and address potential safety, security, and labor issues

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electronics Technology, Industrial Electronics, or Computer Technology preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

Professional Experience

  • Proven experience leading technical teams of at least five individuals.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment for processing both wafers and packaged components.
  • Experience with capital processes and approval workflows.

Work Environment

Travel may be required.

Work Schedule

Full-time, 5 days a week, 100% on-site.
