About the Role

We are a dynamic and agile team focused on enhancing our video-centric business intelligence solutions. Our team is committed to pioneering innovative technologies while maintaining a startup-like approach.

We seek enthusiastic and skilled software engineers to contribute to the development and maintenance of our next-generation advanced video intelligence products. You will collaborate with a team of motivated and experienced developers as we strive to set industry benchmarks.

As a software engineer at March Networks, you will gain exposure to a variety of software technologies, including the management of connected devices, advanced multimedia processing and analytics, real-time networked embedded systems, web technologies, camera technologies, business systems integration, and top-tier user interface design.

Are you prepared to tackle frontend development challenges and participate in the evolution of our existing platform's microservices?

The selected candidate will integrate into an established team, contributing to the next wave of high-throughput video applications, utilizing shared resources across cloud and embedded systems.

Under local supervision, you will receive regular feedback on your completed tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality UX/UI and backend solutions;
  • Collaborate with the team to design and implement outstanding features;
  • Work alongside cross-functional peers to bring your projects to fruition;
  • Assist the team in addressing customer-reported issues;
  • Engage in innovative research on new technologies and solve complex challenges;
  • Share comprehensive product knowledge with colleagues and new team members;
  • Contribute to significant projects and high-level design strategies;
  • Support management in delivery-related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering;
  • Minimum of two to three years of relevant professional experience;
  • Strong proficiency in .NET (C#) development using MS-Visual Studio & WPF;
  • Solid understanding of responsive UI design best practices;
  • Familiarity with Web Services / SOAP / REST client-server architecture;
  • Experience with Software Version Control Systems (Git, Subversion, etc.) and best practices;
  • Knowledge of C++ development with MS-Visual Studio is a valuable asset;
  • Experience in an Agile software development environment (SCRUM);
  • Understanding of Test Automation best practices and frameworks (Robot-framework, Selenium, etc.);
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design and design patterns;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong independent judgment and ability to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional and multi-site team;
  • Fluency in both Italian and English.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of networking, protocols, and tools (TCP/IP, HTTP, RTSP/RTP, Wireshark, Fiddler, etc.);
  • Familiarity with HTML5 / JavaScript / TypeScript / CSS / JQuery / AJAX;
  • Experience with cloud frameworks (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, OpenStack, etc.);
  • Understanding of formal design patterns and languages such as UML;
  • Knowledge of composite and microservice-based architectures;
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.);
  • Familiarity with media streaming services and standard audio/video codecs (e.g., H.264, MPEG4, AAC, etc.).

Work Environment

We offer a hybrid work model that includes a combination of remote and on-site work.
