ICU is a non-profit organization since 1966, implementing development projects in countries with limited resources by promoting their self-development. As Digital Content Strategist, you will be part of the Programs Area Department in our Rome office and work on creating high-quality project proposals for institutional donors such as the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the European Union, private foundations, and United Nations agencies.

We are seeking an experienced professional to develop, define, draft, negotiate, and submit project proposals in response to calls for proposals. This role involves collaborating with the programs staff in managing relations with stakeholders, beneficiaries, and partners, identifying and developing project ideas, and negotiating budgets with identified partners.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in writing projects on international cooperation programs and excellent knowledge of calls for proposals and guidelines of main international donors. In-depth knowledge of project writing methodologies, including RBM and Project Cycle Management, is also required.

A competitive salary of approximately €50,000 per year is offered, based on experience. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a team of professionals dedicated to promoting sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and coordinate preparatory actions for project proposal development;
  • Collaborate with programs staff in managing relations with stakeholders, beneficiaries, and partners;
  • Negotiate budgets with identified partners;
  • Set priorities, internal deadlines, and objectives for information gathering;
  • Prepare administrative/documentary checklist and action plan for project formulation phase;
  • Process funding requests and prepare documentation accompanying the request;

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in writing projects on international cooperation programs;
  • Excellent knowledge of calls for proposals and guidelines of main international donors;
  • In-depth knowledge of project writing methodologies (RBM, Project Cycle Management);
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Italian, written and oral;
  • Proven ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders;

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience in writing PRIMA/INTERREG projects;
  • Knowledge of French and/or Spanish;
  • Knowledge or background in NEXUS issues;
