About the Role
Our objective is to democratize architectural design and the direct manufacturing of homes through a user-friendly architectural design software that excels in graphic visualization and usability. We are in the process of creating the first BIM software that is directly linked to the construction of buildings. Our Product Owner & Computational Designer will be responsible for defining the strategic roadmap, organizing milestones, and crafting user stories for the structural components of our Zuru Home application. You will document epics, user stories, and related documentation on GitLab concerning structural elements. This role involves direct collaboration with the CTO and CDO of Zuru Tech.Key Responsibilities:
Manage the product backlog, write user stories, and engage in scrum events and regular meetings to prioritize product features and establish the product roadmap. Provide constructive feedback to programming and design teams. Act as a Computational Designer with an emphasis on system learning and processing. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with fellow Product Owners, engage in strategic prototyping before requirement implementation, and facilitate communication with the product design team to integrate their needs into a cohesive system-level framework. Make substantial contributions to software development, particularly within the Milan BIM Structures group. Work collaboratively with both UX and C++ teams, create prototypes using Grasshopper, and delegate tasks for effective feature execution. Participate in the design of hardware features, which will involve creating prototypes and collaborating closely with product designers across various locations to produce an optimal prefab product. Engage in designing the core structural components of our products, including connections, materials, and the configuration of walls, waffle slabs, and more.Desired Qualifications:
A minimum of 2+ years of experience with 3D design software (e.g., Autocad, Revit, Sketchup, ArchiCad, Rhino). Proven experience in Computational Design. At least 3 years of experience working with prefabricated systems. Ideal backgrounds may include: - Product designer for mass-produced, prefabricated systems (e.g., furniture, windows, or temporary structures for events) - Architect or Engineer with experience in Residential, Infrastructure, or Facades design. - Any experience in a Product Design discipline that involves some aspect of product manufacturing will be considered advantageous.The Ideal Candidate will embody the core values of our organization:
