About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Executive Sales Director to lead our clinical diagnostics team in Italy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand Sysmex's market share in the assigned business segment.
  • Lead a high-performing commercial team, oversee activities, and prepare and implement sales strategies.
  • Engage with policy makers and stakeholders influencing the regional healthcare system.
  • Manage the CRM/Sales Funnel and ensure all tenders are properly mapped and prepared.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to foster alignment with the marketing strategy and its implementation.
Role Expectations:
  • Identify key market trends and transform them into actionable initiatives in line with the global strategy.
  • Take ownership of key accounts.
  • Participate in conferences and fairs.
Representing Sysmex in the Market:
  • Regularly visit key clients to establish strong relationships for ongoing or future business.
  • Coordinate offer and tender management, setting prices based on competitor availability and resources.
  • Direct large tenders and ensure a structured approach across the team.
  • Involve centralized procurement organizations at both national and regional levels.
  • Ensure the team actively uses the CRM and maintains data quality.
  • Analyze data from the CRM/Sales Funnel and tender mapping to inform decisions and prioritize resources.
Management of Commercial Departments:
  • Manage employees/resources, set tasks and objectives (e.g., propose commissions/plans and salary and bonus reviews, manage verification and appraisal of sales agents, approve expense reports for the sales organization).
  • Drive excellence in sales processes and help implement best practices.
  • Ensure employees receive adequate support, training, and evaluation, keeping them engaged and motivated.
  • Manage and ensure the progress and quality of work.
  • Lead and participate in team projects.
Requirements:

A university degree or equivalent experience in this field is required.

Native Italian language skills and fluency in English are essential.

General professional experience:

  • At least 10 years in sales management roles.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the IVD industry.
  • 3-5 years in people management.
  • Direct experience in Hematology and/or Haemostasis is a plus.

Professional experience for the position:

  • Experience in sales processes (OGP; CRM, Sales Funnel).
  • Experience in managing large tenders.
  • Management capacity (Leader).
  • Product knowledge (Expert).
  • Project management.
  • Familiarity with P&L.
  • Decision-making with a client focus.

The estimated annual salary for this role is €120,000 - €180,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This estimate includes the base salary, bonuses, and other benefits.
