Reporting Structure

The Corporate Engagement Advisor will report directly to the Senior Programme Coordinator of the Hub.

Technical Focus

This role will deliver cutting-edge advisory services and technical assistance to the Hub Director and Senior Programme Coordinator, along with various Hub workstreams, focusing on corporate engagement, accountability, and financing to facilitate the transformation of food systems. The advisor will establish a framework for corporate accountability and contribute to the overarching Hub strategy on corporate engagement, which will inform the Hub's biennial workplan.

Key Responsibilities

Policy and Technical Input

• Provide strategic advice on the corporate engagement priority initiatives of the Hub.

• Ensure effective follow-up on requests for technical assistance related to corporate engagement from countries and partners.

• Assist in the development of a comprehensive corporate accountability framework aimed at fulfilling the mandate under the UNFSS UNSG Call to Action.

• Support the Hub's participation in global policy dialogues concerning the role of the corporate sector in food systems transformation.

Partnerships

• Identify and establish relationships with strategic corporate partners, facilitating communication channels between the Hub and key organizations and corporations to exchange strategic information.

• Maintain robust working relationships with the UN Global Compact and key corporate stakeholders; create and leverage opportunities for new strategic partnerships.

• Promote knowledge management, sharing of lessons learned, best practices, peer learning, and collaboration among relevant stakeholders; support capacity-building initiatives.

UNFSS Engagement

• Assist the Hub Director and Senior Programme Coordinator in articulating and communicating the Hub's unique value proposition, particularly in relation to collective and integrated advancements towards the UNFSS.

• Aid in the preparation of the corporate accountability and corporate engagement processes; consolidate and report on inputs received from key stakeholders during meetings and accountability processes. Ensure that the outcomes of Hub activities in this area are documented, disseminated, and recognized to demonstrate the impact of engagements, supporting outreach, advocacy, communication, visibility, donor relations, and resource mobilization.

• Collaborate with other Hub staff to ensure effective implementation, monitoring, reporting, and broad dissemination of all Hub-led activities related to corporate engagement.

• Perform other related duties as required.

CANDIDATE ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

Minimum Qualifications


• A university degree in sustainable development, economics, law, social sciences, or a related field pertinent to the work of the UN FS Coordination Hub.

• A minimum of seven years of relevant experience providing advisory services in corporate engagement, accountability on sustainable development issues, and partnerships between the UN and the corporate sector.

• Proficiency in English.

Technical/Functional Skills


• Familiarity with the operations of the UN FS Coordination Hub or similar multilateral organizations.

• Relevant experience working with corporate institutional bodies.

• Understanding of global agendas such as the Agenda 2030, the Paris Agreement, and others.

• Exceptional writing skills and strong interpersonal abilities for liaising with diverse stakeholders and presenting ideas effectively.
