About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, specifically within the Unit for Visually Impaired People (U-VIP) research line. The successful candidate will conduct research in the field of multisensory investigations and tools development, focusing on the investigation and implementation of tools for the identification of interindividual differences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in multisensory investigations and tools development, with a focus on interindividual differences
  • Develop and validate new technological solutions using mathematical models, motor analysis, and artificial intelligence
  • Combine behavioral studies with motor tracking and biometric human parameters analysis to determine user skills and develop machine learning approaches
  • Design and conduct experiments, test and analyze data, and disseminate findings in human-tools interaction settings
  • Collaborate with the development team to create tools and software applications
Requirements
  • PhD in engineering, modeling, computer science, robotics, psychophysics, applied neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or related fields
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of programming languages
  • Experience in mathematical models and possibly machine learning
  • Experience in data analysis, modeling, and statistics
Desired Skills
  • Experience with psychophysical measurements, Bayesian models, and motion tracking
  • Experience in human-artificial interaction
