Project Overview: This role is part of a prestigious research initiative funded by the ERC StG, focusing on the developmental pathways of multisensory integration in both typical and atypical populations.

Contract Details: The position is a fixed-term contract for a duration of two years.

Your Research Team: You will collaborate with the Unit for Visually Impaired People (UVIP), a diverse and interdisciplinary team led by Dr. Monica Gori. This group has a rich history of research in psychophysics and multisensory processing, addressing various pathologies including visual and auditory impairments, learning disabilities, and neurological disorders.

Research Focus: The project aims to quantitatively analyze individual differences to develop and validate user-centric urban technologies that promote inclusive engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and managing experiments, including data collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination utilizing EEG and various behavioral, cognitive, motor, perceptual, and physiological metrics.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in neuroscience, neuroengineering, bioengineering, neurobiology, neuropsychology, or a related discipline with a focus on quantitative EEG applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative EEG methodologies.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary international research environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with EEG source analysis, connectivity analysis, or modeling techniques.
  • Knowledge of machine learning or deep learning applications in EEG.
  • Experience with EMG, BCI motion tracking, or eye-tracking technologies.
  • Experience working with non-compliant subjects and with children or infants.
  • Familiarity with other neurophysiological techniques, such as MRI or fNIRS.
