Position Overview

The Legal Director will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal guidance to senior management and various teams within the Green Assets Division. This role is crucial in supporting the strategic growth and operational efficiency of renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering full-spectrum legal counsel to the Executive Chairman, the CEO of Renewables, and teams involved in project origination, development, construction, and operations and maintenance.
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating diverse contracts to facilitate the Green Assets Division in achieving its business objectives.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of MET Group policies across subsidiaries while managing corporate governance matters.
  • Actively promoting and facilitating the expansion of the renewable portfolio across Europe, including involvement in mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and integration processes.
  • Overseeing all legal aspects related to the development and construction of large-scale renewable projects across various European jurisdictions.
  • Providing ongoing legal support to the operations and maintenance team regarding the renewable energy portfolio in multiple countries.
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments in relevant jurisdictions to ensure compliance.
  • Leading a team of two legal counsels dedicated to the Green Assets Division.
  • Managing relationships and budgets with external legal partners, ensuring effective oversight of their services.
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the Green Assets Division to align with MET Group's energy transition goals.
  • Collaborating closely with the Group Legal Team and the Group M&A and Strategy Team.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from a prestigious law school.
  • LLM (Master of Laws) is highly preferred.
  • 12-15 years of relevant experience, with a preference for in-house exposure.
  • Experience in managing legal teams is advantageous.
  • Background in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Italian or German is a plus.
  • Demonstrated initiative, motivation, and independence.
