Role Overview: What does a Business Development Leader do?

A Business Development Leader (BDL) plays a crucial role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to drive revenue, improve profitability, and stimulate business expansion. This includes strategic planning, market positioning, and enhancing operational effectiveness or brand reputation. By thoroughly analyzing market dynamics and competitive landscapes, a BDL formulates and executes strategies aimed at broadening the business's footprint and success within the medical sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish SEE as the premier provider in large or low volume parenteral (LVP) packaging, ostomy barrier film, and biopharmaceutical film, enhancing sales and market visibility.
  • Build strong partnerships with existing key clients through proactive engagement, ensuring exceptional service and fostering customer loyalty.
  • Identify and cultivate new prospects by transforming potential leads into consistent sales, thereby expanding our clientele.
  • Enhance SEE's presence in the EMEA region by comprehensively understanding and addressing client needs, positioning us as a market frontrunner.
  • Collaborate with the Innovation & Development team on new product concepts and enhancements, ensuring our offerings align with market demands.
  • Investigate adjacent markets to uncover additional avenues for growth and diversification.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant field, preferably in technical disciplines.
  • Proven experience in the industry, ideally with a background in the medical sector, showcasing strong business acumen and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel over 40% of the time to foster relationships with new prospects.
  • Representation of SEE at international exhibitions and conferences.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) and proficiency in at least one additional language (preferably German, with French, Italian, or Spanish also acceptable).
