About the Role

AspenTech is a global leader in industrial software solutions, driving innovation and sustainability across industries. We're seeking an Electrical Grid Sales Strategist to join our team, leveraging expertise in software sales and industry knowledge to drive business growth.

Your Impact

You will be responsible for developing and managing strategic account relationships with key customers in the electrical grid industry. Your role will involve articulating the value proposition of AspenTech's digital grid management solutions, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales growth through effective relationship management and solution development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
  • Articulate the value proposition of AspenTech's digital grid management solutions to customers and stakeholders
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and prospect new relationships
  • Lead solution development efforts, coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders to meet customer needs
  • Manage CRM tools to track sales performance, pipeline development, and competitive displacement targeting
  • Respond to RFPs, bid preparation, follow-up, negotiation, and closing of sales

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of software sales experience or industry experience in a consultative selling role
  • Strategic sales thinker with ability to see how existing customer solutions can be repeated and leveraged within an industry sector
  • Demonstrated track record in solution sales with multi-year achievement against personal quota
  • Ability to actively prospect new business relationships within existing accounts
  • Proficient at establishing and cultivating 'C' level consultative relationships
  • Significant experience leading multimillion-dollar sales campaigns
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-discipline and motivation with ability to set goals that exceed expectations
  • Travel expected 50% of time

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Experience selling to customers in the Energy/Electricity Utility/Engineering industry
  • Familiarity with electricity utility real-time grid control systems solutions (SCADA, EMS, GMS, DMS, OMS, DERMS) preferred
  • Knowledge of asset management and business processes
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices for critical infrastructure systems, specifically pertaining to electric utility control systems and NERC CIP standards
  • Knowledge of electric utility systems, grid control technologies, and protocols, such as DNP3, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104, ICCP, and CIM

Salary Range:$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience
