The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Programme Officer to join its Animal Production and Health Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing programmes and projects related to animal production and health, with a focus on One Health and biosecurity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and implement programmes and projects related to animal production and health, with a focus on One Health and biosecurity.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to countries in the development and implementation of animal health and production programmes.
  • Collaborate with other FAO divisions and partners to ensure a coordinated approach to animal health and production issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, international organizations, and civil society organizations.
  • Contribute to the development of FAO's policies and strategies related to animal health and production.
Requirements:
  • Advanced university degree in animal science, veterinary medicine, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in animal health and production, with a focus on One Health and biosecurity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and another official language of the United Nations.
