Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Operations Leader to join our team at CAE in Rome, Italy. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of technical personnel and ensuring the smooth operation of our training center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technical personnel and be responsible for training and annual performance reviews.
  • Accountable for the maintenance of the aviation training facility and various training equipment.
  • Manage local IT and logistics activities for overall operations.
  • Coordinate delivery and qualification of new simulators and other training devices.
  • Assure the highest level of customer service is provided at all times.
  • Proactively develop working relationships with aviation regulatory authorities and ensure all training devices meet required standards.
  • Overall responsibility for inventory management.
  • Support the implementation of a quality assurance program and compliance monitoring system.
  • Responsible for general and day-to-day maintenance of the facility.
  • Work closely with customer services and training delivery teams to ensure best customer service and training experience.
  • Responsible for regular reporting to ensure corresponding KPIs are met monthly.
  • Communicate operational and organizational information effectively and with transparency.
  • Coordinate successful project execution as needed.

Qualifications and Skill Set Requirements

  • Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aviation related field, with at least 8 years of FSTD technical experience.
  • At least 3 years in a Supervisory position in a FSTD Technical Support environment.
  • Must have the rights to work within the EU.
  • Aptitude to multi-task and effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to make quality and timely decisions and recommendations on technical matters and personnel issues.
  • Proven ability to create and foster a teamwork environment.
  • Exhibit excellent leadership skills to motivate and develop direct reports.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language, read, spoken, and written. Knowledge of the Italian language would be preferable and beneficial in support of the operations.
  • Highly customer oriented, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the customer.
  • Ability to prepare a work plan/schedule and allocate resources to meet operational objectives.
  • Solid technical background and familiarity with FSTD technical issues.
  • Vast knowledge of various aircraft types, including Commercial Jetliners.
  • Superior understanding of aircraft and training device terminology.
  • Advanced understanding of Commercial Aviation training.
  • In-depth knowledge of local & International regulations, with demonstrated experience.
  • Advanced computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
