Role Overview

The Project Control Manager is responsible for steering the project control team and overseeing the comprehensive project control activities, regardless of size or complexity, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and the company’s standard methodologies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Execution Plan Development: Collaborate with the Project Director/Manager and key personnel to formulate the overall Project Execution Plan.
  • Monitoring and Compliance: Ensure the application of the Project Execution Plan throughout the project lifecycle to meet established targets.
  • Control Procedures: Establish and maintain project control procedures and standards in collaboration with Project Control Engineers.
  • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): Coordinate the development and implementation of the project WBS, ensuring consistency with contractual requirements.
  • Tool Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in using essential project control tools such as Primavera P6, SAP, and others.
  • Hand-over Coordination: Assist in preparing the Hand-over package and facilitate the Handing Over Meeting with key personnel.
  • Project Control Checklist: Prepare and distribute the Project Control Checklist to team members.
  • Schedule Preparation: Lead the creation of project schedules, ensuring they are detailed and approved as Project Baselines.
  • Workshops Organization: Conduct regular Project Planning and Progress workshops in line with company procedures.
  • Single Point of Reference: Act as the primary contact for all Project Control activities, liaising with the Company, Client, and internal stakeholders.
  • Routine Control Activities: Ensure ongoing control measures are in place to achieve project completion within the baseline timeframe.
  • Collaboration for Cost Control: Work with key personnel to manage project costs and ensure profitability.
  • Budget Preparation: Coordinate the preparation of the Original Budget, gathering necessary inputs from relevant departments.
  • Variation Assessment: Conduct periodic assessments of quantity variations to update time and cost forecasts.
  • Client Negotiations: Lead discussions with Clients/Stakeholders regarding methodologies and formats for project control.
  • Decision Support: Provide necessary information to support Project Manager/Director decisions and alert them to significant trends.
  • Change Order Evaluation: Assess scope changes and contract variances in collaboration with the Contract Manager.
