Role Overview

As the Operations Manager for Italy, you will oversee the operational efficiency of Welcome Pickups in the region. Your primary responsibilities will include tracking key performance indicators and implementing strategies to enhance driver acquisition, optimize destination setups, and manage community relations. You will be pivotal in expanding Welcome Pickups across various locations. This role is part of our Driver Operations team and reports directly to the Head of Driver Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure optimal operational performance by maximizing transfer numbers while minimizing cancellations.
  • Evaluate the service quality of new drivers through key performance indicators and community feedback.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the local driver labor market and legal requirements to identify challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Design and implement innovative, data-driven strategies for driver recruitment and retention.
  • Continuously refine the setup of Welcome Destinations, including operational hours and vehicle capacities.
  • Facilitate communication with driver communities through calls and group discussions, recognizing and nurturing top performers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Driver Operations to provide insights on driver-related data, market challenges, and community dynamics to ensure a responsive driver supply.
  • Work alongside the Expansion and Commercial teams to contribute region-specific insights for business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • Over two years of proven experience in operations, preferably in fleet management, ride-sharing, last-mile logistics, or a high-growth startup environment in Italy
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Goal-oriented with a track record of exceeding performance targets
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Fluency in Italian is essential
  • Analytical thinker with a creative approach
  • Personable and enthusiastic demeanor
  • Proficient in digital technologies
