Position Overview

In the role of Laboratory Operations Manager at our Vimercate facility, you will oversee the management and growth of your team to ensure exceptional service delivery. Your responsibilities will include enhancing performance within your functional area by collaborating with both internal and external partners to develop and implement service strategies that align with corporate objectives and business requirements. You will play a key role in fostering individual development through performance evaluations and the establishment of growth plans. Additionally, you will track performance metrics to pinpoint and enact continuous improvement initiatives. Ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations, as well as departmental procedures, will also be a crucial part of your leadership role, alongside mentoring other leaders in the organization to create sustainable and successful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Team Performance Management

  • Communicate job expectations and changes effectively.

Service Delivery Management

  • Influence and shape functional strategies.
  • Provide guidance on work execution and problem resolution.
  • Assist in troubleshooting escalated issues and coach for resolution.
  • Coordinate departmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitor adherence to policies and provide feedback.
  • Ensure team members receive proper training in compliance and work requirements.
  • Manage internal budgets effectively.
  • Engage in and promote continuous cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with laboratory service support functions.
  • Serve as a technical reference and liaison with laboratory service suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the global network to support initiatives and projects.
  • Prepare for and support laboratory audits.
  • Assess capital and space requests from engineering teams.
  • Define and implement processes for equipment maintenance to optimize uptime and efficiency.

Organizational Leadership

  • Create and execute strategies based on stakeholder, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
  • Monitor performance against plans.
  • Maintain expertise to provide subject matter guidance.
  • Actively participate in or lead functional teams and projects.
  • Mentor other leaders within the function.
  • Collaborate with peers to develop global solutions.
  • Manage conflicts and identify escalation pathways.
  • Align internal strategies with corporate objectives.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Identify and understand service requirements.
  • Communicate capabilities to meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Develop metrics to clarify deliverables.
  • Provide functional expertise to customers and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate services with peers and global partners.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective communication with all relevant parties.

Safety and Compliance

  • Stay informed of and apply company safety, labor, and ethics policies.
  • Communicate requirements to team members and stakeholders.
  • Oversee mandatory training execution for direct reports.
  • Identify and address potential safety and labor issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electronics Technology, Industrial Electronics, or Computer Technology preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Experience

  • Proven experience leading technical teams of at least five members.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment for processing wafers and packaged parts.
  • Experience with capital processes and approval workflows.

Work Environment

This position requires full-time on-site presence with no remote work options.
