About the Role:

This is a fast-paced commercial role where you will be responsible for selling innovative software solutions to a variety of industries, including discrete manufacturing, water & wastewater, automotive, tunnels & metros, life sciences, chemicals, and oil & gas.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, bringing the latest digital technologies to help them grow and improve their businesses.
  • Learn the Emerson Software portfolio through training, be capable of demonstrating, and helping customers understand the value and return on investment of these products.
  • Drive sales opportunities to closure in order to meet new order and sales targets.
  • Develop a strategic approach to select key verticals/accounts in the defined territory.
  • Follow up on leads generated by marketing activities to target new business creation.
  • Expand the list of target accounts, identifying new niches of growth, with entrepreneurship.
  • Put new customers first and help them tackle their challenges.
  • Plan and execute commercial and marketing activities.
  • Prospect for new customers and opportunities, followed by deal closing.
  • Be accountable for the performance of new orders and sales for the assigned area.
  • Develop account plans and execute tactical activities.
  • Interact with marketing, product managers, engineers, and supply chain to share insights on market, or customer, needs and dynamics.
  • Partner with the global marketing team and industry managers to implement local activities.
  • Forecast orders using CRM.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of all Emerson products, applications, price structure, industry developments, and strategies.

About You:

This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in an outside sales role or a small business leadership role, preferably in industrial automation. You should have knowledge of HMI, Supervisory Control, and/or Plant Analytic software, as well as a proven understanding of automation systems for building automation, infrastructure, manufacturing, and/or machine automation. Technologies include IIoT, HMI/SCADA, OEE software, and cloud/EDGE technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Studies in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field are preferred. Previous experience as an Application Engineer (or Solution Architect) is also preferred. Sales experience in adjacent industries may be considered for the right candidate.
