THE ROLE

You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.

The Artificial and Mechanical Intelligence Research line is coordinated by Daniele Pucci. The research combines theoretical investigations with real-time practical implementation on real hardware and embedded electronics. This includes improving the state of art in wearables for physical human-robot interaction, telexistence technologies, and human biomechanics analysis.

We are seeking to appoint a full-time engineer interested in the general topic of Embedded Systems Designer for wearable systems. The focus of the job is to develop micro-controlled hardware, firmware, and low-level software.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in one of the following areas: robotics, software engineering, electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, wearable robotics, or any other related field to electronics or robotics;
  • Outstanding or very good academic track record;
  • Creative, proactive, and collaborative attitude;
  • Good command of spoken and written English.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

  • Experience with electronic embedded systems;
  • Experience with Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) design;
  • Experience with hardware electronics development tools (e.g., PADS, Altium Designer, Eagle);
  • Experience with programming languages (C, C++), and middlewares (e.g., YARP, ROS);
  • Experience with GitHub or other code versioning tools;
  • Ability to work in a challenging and international environment;
  • Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment;
  • Possess Analytical Reasoning skills and a growth mindset.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

  • Competitive salary package;
  • Private health care coverage depending on your role and contract;
  • Candidates from abroad or Italian citizens who have carried scientific research activity permanently abroad and meet specific requirements may be entitled to a deduction from taxable income of up to 90% from 6 to 13 years.
