**WHO WE ARE**

**YOUR TEAM**
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where physicists, chemists, biologists, biotechnologists, as well as materials, chemical, mechanical, electronic, and biomedical engineers, collaborate, use and expand their own expertise, to carry out common research.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Development of electrochemical biosensors for the detection of pathogens, such as viruses or bacteria.
- Development of active conductive surfaces utilizing carbon nanomaterials functionalized with specific antibodies.
- Study of variations in the electrical properties of the biosensors upon binding of target pathogens.
- Sensors validation in the presence of known pathogens.
- Use of state-of-the-art instrumentation like spray coating, screen-printing, spectrophotometry, electronic microscopy, electrochemical cells, etc.
- Protection of created intellectual property by patents.
- Publication of results in high impact peer-review scientific journals.
**WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE**
- PhD in one of the following areas: Bioengineering, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, and similar disciplines with postdoctoral experience up to 3 years.
- Experience with carbon nanomaterials development, functionalization, and testing.
- Experience in electrochemistry.
- Experience in handling pathogenic microorganisms.
- Experience in the development of biosensors.
- Experience with morphological, and spectroscopic characterization techniques.
- A strong publication record.
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
