Position Title: Senior Demand Planning Analyst

Location: Arese (Milan, Italy)

Function: Demand Planning

Role Overview:

This position is an integral part of the Southern Cluster Demand Planning team, focusing on the demand planning responsibilities for designated country and product category combinations. The analyst will engage with various levels of the business and report directly to the Associate Manager of Demand Planning for the Southern Cluster. Interaction with multiple functions across the supply chain on a regional scale is a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize and maintain existing demand planning systems to generate the most accurate forecasts through established methodologies.
  • Gather and assess historical and projected demand inputs, including distribution changes, pricing adjustments, product lifecycle events, and promotional strategies, to evaluate their effects on demand.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on initiatives such as product launches and phase-outs, assessing assumptions before and after implementation.
  • Engage with Marketing, Sales, and Finance to coordinate advertising and promotional efforts, analyzing expected market impacts and comparing them to historical performance.
  • Ensure that demand forecasts are communicated in the necessary detail and timeframe to internal stakeholders and supply chain partners, including a clear outline of assumptions and confidence levels.
  • Influence and partner with key stakeholders in marketing, sales, and finance to address identified gaps in input through forecast error analysis.
  • Measure, analyze, and report on critical process metrics while monitoring adherence to performance indicators and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Demand Planning and Supply Chain or Business roles.
  • Proven track record of success in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, with familiarity in standard S&OP processes.
  • Hands-on experience with demand planning and simulation tools.
  • Strong communication abilities, capable of conveying complex concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to thrive under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Intermediate proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and/or Access.

Desired Attributes:

  • A bachelor's degree in economics, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to drive initiatives and influence decision-making across all organizational levels.
  • Competence in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, linking business metrics to key performance indicators.
  • Understanding of finance, sales, marketing, and customer market dynamics.
  • Familiarity with S&OP processes and SAP systems.
  • Experience in the FMCG sector is advantageous.
