Overview:

Role Summary:

The Demand Planning division at SC Johnson plays a crucial role in crafting the demand forecast. As a Demand Planning Intern, your primary responsibility will be to generate a demand forecast by analyzing various data inputs, including sales forecasts related to promotions, distribution patterns, shipment history, competitive activities, and marketing strategies. You will facilitate the Pre-demand and Demand Reviews, ensuring a streamlined and unbiased consensus process within the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) framework.

This internship presents an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates in Supply Chain who are eager to embark on a career in an international setting.

Team/Department Overview:

As an intern, you will be integrated into the Demand Planning Team.

Key Responsibilities:

You will assist the Demand Planning Team in the following areas:

  • Gather and evaluate historical and projected demand inputs (including distribution changes, pricing adjustments, new and discontinued products, and promotional strategies) from Sales and Marketing to assess their impact on demand.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on initiatives such as product launches and discontinuations to validate assumptions (both pre and post-launch) regarding new product forecasts, pipeline fill, and potential cannibalization.
  • Analyze and communicate essential process metrics, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators while fostering continuous improvement.
  • Partner with supply chain stakeholders to comprehend current supply limitations and their effects on demand planning.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree, ideally in economics, supply chain management, engineering, or a related business discipline.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in both Italian and English.

  • Excellent communication abilities, with a proven capacity to grasp key concepts and engage with stakeholders across various organizational levels.
  • Capability to drive initiatives and influence decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving competencies.
  • Ability to thrive in high-performing teams within collaborative environments.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, linking business process metrics to key performance indicators.
