About the Role

The Vodafone Business Intelligence and Big Data team is responsible for the Vodafone data stack, encompassing Business Intelligence and Analytics Systems. This team provides data and services to various stakeholders, including predefined reports for business users, self-service reporting for advanced BI users, and an analytics platform for data scientists. The platform we manage addresses multiple business needs, leveraging standard BI and ETL tools, as well as modern real-time data streaming tools.

As an IT Cloud & Analytics Team leader, you will oversee a team of skilled engineers on Cloud Data monetization projects. You will understand business requirements and drive Systems enhancement to provide necessary data in the best way according to the IT strategy and business needs. You will define and implement the best strategy for data transformation.

You will add value to the business by improving the value of data, working on an enterprise-grade Analytics that handles terabytes of data every day, and working on data monetization programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand data and transform them within a multi-speed environment
  • Analyze requirements and come up with technical solutions to bring them to life
  • Design and develop extensions to the data platform, working on the E2E data pipeline
  • Automate data manipulation and extraction through CI/CD Pipelines and CloudOps functionalities
  • Be part of an international team
  • Leverage analytical skills to create new value out of our data
  • Lead a team of skilled engineers
  • Understand Data Architecture Design
Qualifications and Experience
  • Coaching and mentoring of junior resources
  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, and/or other STEM degrees
  • Working experience in similar roles (3+ years)
  • Preferred knowledge of SQL, NOSQL, Hadoop/Big Data, and data modeling concepts
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and patterns
  • Understanding of CI/CD frameworks leveraging tools like Jenkins and GitHub
  • Understanding of distributed compute frameworks such as Spark
  • Knowledge of data preparation
  • Good communication skills and stakeholder management
  • Fluent English speaking and writing
  • Knowledge of Cloud Data Architecture on GCP or other Cloud Providers for storage, compute (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Experience in Agile Scrum Methodology
