Business Development Manager

Solenis is a leading global producer of specialty chemicals focused on delivering sustainable solutions for water-intensive industries. Our product portfolio includes a broad array of water treatment chemistries, process aids, functional additives, and cleaners and disinfectants, as well as state-of-the-art monitoring and control systems.
We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team in Italy. This is a full-time, permanent role home-based in the area of Tuscany.
Key Responsibilities:
• Developing business development strategies and creating development plans for relevant areas to reach required business objectives and revenue.
• Working closely with extended commercial teams to understand business requirements and market needs.
• Selling new business and new applications in the region. Developing and implementing sales plans on new opportunities including documenting ROI and value delivery.
• Establishing, maintaining and prioritizing an accurate and current sales funnel. Managing profitability of the account. Reviewing territory applications and processes/procedures for safety improvements.
Requirements:
• A degree in Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or similar area, or relevant years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Preferably some previous experience in Process industry (metals, pulp and paper, mining are preferred).
• Fluent Italian and good English.
• Customer focus – Ability to fulfil customer needs and expectations. Must be professional and confident with internal and external customers.
• Delivering Results – Deliver against strategic business KPI's. Passionate about success and delivering operational excellence, whilst sharing best practice.
• Ability to make independent decisions, work flexibly, and have high degree of self-motivation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a true service attitude.
• Valid driving license - this is a field-based role and frequent travel will be required.
