Financial Lines Claims Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Claims Specialist to join our team and contribute to the growth of our Financial Lines business.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in handling and investigating complex claims. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for dealing with genuine claims through a proactive, best practice approach, in line with AIG's quality standards. You will actively promote and demonstrate the principles of 'Treating Customers Fairly' in claims handling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims on a consistent basis, dealing with such claims in line with our clear guidelines.
  • Regularly interact with internal stakeholders, brokers, medical experts, clients' lawyers, victims, or their legal representatives, building effective relationships and acting as a point of referral.
  • Support Team Managers and deputize in their absence, assisting with monitoring market/industry practices in claims handling.
  • Contribute to improving our products in collaboration with colleagues in underwriting, utilizing the claims experience gained.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of legal, regulatory, and litigation/procedural requirements for Financial Lines.
  • Specialist knowledge of Financial Lines technical claims topics.
  • At least some experience in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration.
  • Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
  • Lateral thinking and the ability to problem solve and develop new ideas to improve working practices.
  • Strong communication, time management, administrative, and report-writing skills.
