Main Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a skilled Technologist to join our Group R&D Hard Boiled Candy team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing global multiple Hard Boiled Candy and Lollipop projects of low/medium complexity from formulation development to industrial line design & line start up and ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and perform trials and experiments in the pilot plant with the supervision of the Sr Technologist, innovating or improving quality and cost of edible parts, and collaborating with external suppliers to identify new ingredients opportunities.
  • Ensure new products align with Group R&D policies regarding ingredients, claims, and nutritional contents.
  • Lead laboratory activities in Lainate for new recipes or improvement of existing ones.
  • Record experimental objectives, methods, results, and conclusions accurately.
  • Use internal software to apply proper recipe and process flow logic, training local teams on the same.
  • Support the Sr Technologist in organizing and assisting in loco of factory trials, liaising with Local R&D teams and external suppliers, defining recipe, process parameters, and product specification, and defining processes according to PI&D and production line capabilities.
  • Support the Sr Technologist in giving advice/support on product modifications and cost reduction processes, maintaining quality standards, and improving yields.
  • Benchmarking and internal product evaluation, performing benchmark analysis, requesting analysis of tests and/or reference samples, and characterizing products through measurement techniques.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings and discussions to agree on project plans and timing.
Requirements
  • Degree in Food Technology, Chemist, or any other scientific matter.
  • 3 years' experience in confectionery, bakery, or pasta products and processes.
  • Technological knowledge in confectionary area, especially in hard boiled candy and lollipop technology.
  • Good level of English to sustain technical discussions and report preparation.
  • Good knowledge in product formulation/RMs and candy processes.
  • Attitude to work in laboratory and with machines.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team in different geographical and cultural areas, but also independently from a remote setting.
  • Good ability in trouble shooting and problem solving.
  • Proactively searching for continuous improvement.
  • Accuracy and attention to details.
  • Dynamic and flexible, high commitment to work.
